Items like purses, wallets and jewelry are always a big hits especially if they’re well-known brands.
DO THINK CREATIVELY AND BUILD A SPECIAL “PACKAGE”.
Putting together multiple services followed by a meal creates a bidding frenzy! Parents love a massage for two along with
delicious meal at a near by restaurant or other services like facials, personal trainer sessions or dance lessons work well too.
DO CRACK OPEN YOUR ROLODEX AND HIT UP ANYONE WHO HAS TIES TO ENTERTAINMENT.

Parents love to invest in professional services that help them in their every day including graphic design, interior design and
architectural renderings. Also beauty is big with services for hair and make-up applications or photo sessions (family or a
head shot) for BIG events work well.

Organized events sell well including bowling, skating, trivia parties. Also after school programs with local establishments

Do let ALL potential donors know that gifts are entirely tax deductible and that BSI is growing.
Important to stress that BSI is a growing K-8 school with over 300 local families currently spanning Brooklyn, parts of Queens
and Staten Island.
Don’t work too hard finding cool pieces of artwork for the auction.
Unless the artwork is created by our children, most paintings, sculpture etc bring in low bids.
Don’t accept coupons or discounts (exception if they are $500 or above).
Don’t accept items that expire in less than 2 months from Auction date.
